Vicodin Side Effects

vicodin oral side effects:

Nausea, constipation, vomiting, lightheadedness, drowsiness, dizziness, flushing, mood or mental changes or vision changes, can occur. If any effects from them get worsen or persist then inform to doctor or the pharmacist.

Doctor prescribed this medicine to patient because they judge that benefit of vicodin is greater than its side effect. Many patients do not have any harsh side effects after using this medicine.

If any of the following side effects occur then immediately tell to the doctor.

  • Irregular or slow heartbeat
  • Irregular or slow breathing
  • change in amount of urine
If unlikely or very serous side effects occur then immediately inform to the doctor:
  • Impairment or the loss of hearing
If patient is not suffering from liver problem, then the dose of acetaminophen is 4gm that is 4000 milligrams per day. If patient take medicine more than daily amount then he/she may suffer from liver diseases. If following symptoms of the liver disease is shown then immediately inform to the doctor or pharmacist:
  • Severe nausea
  • Dark urine
  • Yellowing eyes or skin
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Stomach pain
All allergic reaction to vicodin drug is unlikely, but takes immediate medical precaution after occurring of it. Allergic reaction symptoms include:
  • Rash
  • Swelling
  • Itching
  • Trouble breathing
  • Severe dizziness

Take the medical help if any medical signs of allergic reaction occur such as difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of your lips, face, throat or tongue. For the following side effects, call the doctor:

  • Slow heartbeat
  • Shallow breathing
  • Fainting
  • Feeling light headed
  • Fear, confusion, unusual behavior or thoughts
  • Seizure
  • Urination problems
  • Stomach pain, nausea, loss of appetite, dark urine, itching, jaundice or clay-colored stools, jaundice Side effects which are less serious are given below:
  • Feeling dizzy, anxious, or drowsy
  • Headache, changes in mood
  • Mild vomiting, nausea, constipation or upset stomach
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry mouth
  • Ringing in the ears
